YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his channel BeerBiceps, recently appeared as a panellist on Samay Raina‘s edgy YouTube show India’s Got Latent. However, his attempts to match the show’s dark humor did not go well with the internet. Ranveer is facing backlash for several offensive and inappropriate jokes, sparking calls for tighter regulation of online shows like Latent.
Adding to the growing list of critics, popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, also known as Flying Beast, shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Lagta hai #SamayRaina poore YoutubeIndia ko cancel karwa ke hi maanega.”
Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments sparks controversy
In the latest episode of Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent, Ranveer grilled a contestant with a shocking question about their parents, asking, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?” While the remark drew loud cheers from Samay and other panellists, it left viewers appalled.
Many social media users have called on authorities to regulate the content of shows like India’s Got Latent, which bypass streaming censorship by airing on YouTube. Some are also calling out
Ranveer Allahbaida – who was awarded as the National Creator Awards last year – for his inappropriate comments.
One user wrote, “He received the ‘Disruptor of the Year’ award from India’s PM. After his offensive incest-related remarks, will this award be revoked, or do awards come without any accountability?” Another remarked “But honestly people think for a movement, were such kind or joke is actually “Joke” . Do you not feel it’s going out of hand… Crossing all boundaries…??”.
“Hello @BeerBicepsGuy, Shame on you! Requesting @MIB_India to kindly look into these unfiltered shows spreading vulgarity and cheapness,” wrote another. A fourth user wrote “What do I do to unhear that horrible Ranveer Allahbadia clip?”.
