YouTube Premium price increases
In several posts on Reddit, users reported receiving information via email from the video streaming platform about an upcoming price increase. In European countries such as Belgium, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands, the price of the single plan has been revised from 11.99 Euros (approximately Rs. 1,100) to 13.99 Euros (approximately Rs. 1,300). Meanwhile, the family plan is expected to increase by nearly 40%; from €17.99 (approximately Rs. 1,700) to €25.99 (approximately Rs. 2,400).
Denmark, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have also announced similar price increases. YouTube said the decision was part of its efforts to “continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists you watch on YouTube,” according to a screenshot of the email.
