Boston: A young man has shocked even security agencies by releasing classified Pentagon documents considered America’s most secure. It contains classified military documents and other important documents about the war in Ukraine. A federal judge in Boston found a Massachusetts Air National Guard member guilty of the crime.
A court sentenced him to 15 years in prison for leaking highly classified military documents and other documents related to the war in Ukraine. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani sentenced a 22-year-old named Jack Teixeira for leaking classified military documents. Teixeira pleaded guilty earlier this year to six counts of knowingly collecting and disseminating defense information. Teixeira appeared calm during the sentencing hearing.
The perpetrator apologized for his behavior
Before being sentenced, he apologized for his actions. “I want to say that I’m sorry for the hurt I’ve caused,” Teixeira said, adding that he apologized to his family, friends and anyone affected by his actions. Teixeira, 22, admitted that he illegally collected some of the country’s most secret intelligence information and shared it on the social media platform “Discord.” (language)
