Young Brit collapses in the street in Magaluf just yards from where father-of-four was found dead covered in mystery bite marks 24 hours earlier as revellers continue to party on the notorious strip

A young Brit collapsed in a Magaluf street just yards from where a father-of-four Irish tourist was found dead and covered in mystery bite marks less than 24 hours before, while revellers continued to party on the notorious strip.

Paramedics scrambled to the scene to help the man, described as British and in his early 20’s, before sending him to a local hospital via ambulance on Tuesday at 2am.

The man hit the pavement outside Mulligan’s Irish pub, which is located on the resort’s notorious Punta Bellena strip that is packed with late-night bars, nightclubs and lap dancing clubs.

Onlookers alerted Spain’s Policia Local who mount regular patrols of the centre of Magaluf throughout the night.

Officers called an ambulance and helped paramedics lift the reveller onto a stretcher to receive treatment for suspected alcohol poisoning.

Paramedics and medical staff donning orange hi-vis shirts were pictured loading the 20-year-old on a stretcher in the middle of the street before strapping him in and pushing him into the ambulance.

The young man was not the only one out cold from excess drinking as other revellers continued to party around him.

Teenagers patrolled the network of bars and nightclubs into the early hours of the morning.

Images taken on the strip show partygoers continuing their boozy antics, dressed in costume hats and sitting at eateries with their legs on the tables.

Other photos from the scene show captured one man in a white t-shirt, grey shorts, and trainers, passed out on a step in the party district.

His back can be seen being supported by the stone, while his legs dangle over the edge on the ground.

Large crowds gathered in the streets outside nightclubs, while friends held back the hair of those vomiting on the ground and other partygoers walked around next to police cars with cups of booze in hand.

But just less than 24 hours earlier, father-of-four Michael Grant, 45, from Ireland was found unresponsive on the same street just yards away.

Mr Grant, who was on holiday in Magaluf with his wife Leanne and at least two of their four children and other families from Ireland, was declared dead at the scene.

Initial reports suggested he had died of natural causes.

But this morning it has emerged that Mr Grant had suffered leg injuries consistent with having been hit by a car and had bite marks on his arm and shoulder.

The physiotherapist from Waterford, also had a deep wound with glass found inside it.

Investigators are now waiting on the results of a full autopsy due to take place later today to see if it confirms initial suspicions the holidaymaker suffered a heart attack after a heavy day’s partying or points to his shock death being linked to something more sinister.

He and his group had been staying at the Sol Katmandu Park and Resort before his tragic death.

He had reportedly taken a wrong turn and become separated from other members of his group after spending the afternoon drinking by his hotel pool before going out partying.

A security guard alerted local police yesterday, telling officers he had seen the man collapse and fall to the ground.

The dead man was identified by the hotel wristband he was wearing but also by the tattooed names of his wife and children on his back.

A spokesman for Calvia Council, which is responsible for the Magaluf area, had said earlier in the day the dead man was British before it was confirmed he was travelling on an Irish passport.

A hotel worker also added: ‘The family and friends of Mr Grant were crying all morning,’ after hearing the news of his unexpected death.

Mr Grant was a head child coach at St Joseph’s AFC Waterford football club.

It said in a tribute statement released on its Facebook page: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the sudden shock passing of our dearest club member and head child coach, Michael Grant.

‘As many of you know, Michael was more than just a coach to us – he was a beloved friend and as a club and for his family we need time to process this devastating loss’.

Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: ‘The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance. As with all consular cases, the Department does not comment on the details of any specific case.’
