Noida police arrested two accused for extorting money from people by luring them through gay apps and threatening them. Illegal arms and stolen rupees of seven thousand rupees have been seized.
The police learned that on September 21, someone at Dadri police station reported that the accused Vijay (alias Vijji) and Kuldeep had stolen Rs 7,000 from the victim’s pocket. Apart from this, Rs 1 lakh was also transferred from the complainant’s Google Pay account. The case was registered under Section 303(2) of the BNS. On September 22, police took action in the same case and arrested two accused near a closed CNG petrol station on Dadri-Secunderabad Road. The police recovered Rs 7,000 in cash along with illegal pistols and live ammunition from their possession.
Accused of defrauding others by creating different IDs
The defendants said during the trial that we created different IDs on the gay app Grindr and called people, threatened them, stole their belongings and transferred money online. He revealed that there was another man named Arvind with him.
Defendants tell how they deceived victims
He said the trio hatched a plan to trap a boy named Bad Boy on the gay app Grindr. We called him with ID name Rahul and to pick him up, the accused Vijay (also known as Vijji) rode his bicycle to Chithaira Canal Pulia. Kuldeep and Arun also met him on the canal road to Shahpur. As per the plan, Allen and Kuldeep took out Rs 7,000 from his pocket. They threaten the victim to transfer all the money in your account to us, otherwise we will tell your family and relatives that you are gay.
One lakh rupees transferred
After that, first Rs 80,000 and then Rs 20,000 were transferred from the victim’s account through Google Pay, after which they left him and ran away. The Rs 7,000 recovered from the accused Vijay and Kuldeep were left over from the same incident and they spent the remaining money on fun.
