The monsoon session of Uttar Pradesh Assembly is starting from July 29. UP government will present supplementary budget in this session. The government will bring the first supplementary budget for 2024-25. Before the by-elections, the Yogi government will provide funds for the preparations for Prayagraj Kumbh through this supplementary budget and will give impetus to the ongoing schemes.

Finance department busy in preparations

The Finance Department of Uttar Pradesh has started preparing to bring the supplementary budget. In this budget, the state government will also make arrangements to complete important projects of other departments. After the Union Budget, now focusing on the previous schemes of UP, the emphasis of the government will be on completing many ongoing schemes and priorities in the supplementary budget.

Monsoon session will start from July 29

Earlier in February, the Yogi government had presented a budget of Rs 7.36 lakh crore for 2024-25. The monsoon session of the UP Assembly will start from July 29 and continue till August 2. While the government has to present the budget, Samajwadi Party’s morale is high after its better performance in the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, the monsoon session of the UP Assembly is expected to be full of uproar.

The biggest challenge for the government

Another challenge before the government is the resentment of its allies which is visible from time to time after the Lok Sabha elections. Recently, BJP’s ally Nishad Party’s Sanjay Nishad, who is also a cabinet minister, had targeted the bulldozer action.

He had said that officials act arbitrarily and do not even listen to ministers, which impacts the elections. RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary has lodged an objection to the Yogi government’s decision to install nameplates in front of shops on the route of Kanwar Yatra. Earlier, Apna Dal Sonelal President Anupriya Patel has also alleged discrimination in government jobs.
