The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday (September 3) appointed Babita Chauhan as the chairperson of the State Women’s Commission. Aparna Yadav, daughter-in-law of late Mulayam Singh Yadav, founder of the Samajwadi Party, has been appointed as the vice-chairman of the commission. Let us tell you that Aparna Yadav joined the BJP in January 2022 and after two and a half years, she has been given a big responsibility.

When Aparna joined BJP just before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2022, it was expected that the saffron party would make her contest the elections, but this did not happen. After this, there were many occasions when there was talk of Aparna Yadav becoming a member of the Legislative Council or being made a candidate by the BJP in the by-election. But these things also proved to be speculations. Aparna Yadav could not get any major responsibility in the BJP organization for the last two and a half years.
