India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt Ltd today launched its popular sports bike Yamaha R15M with new carbon fiber pattern graphics. The bike has a 155cc liquid-cooled engine which is inspired from the famous bike R1. The company says that it has been designed as a supersportin line with Yamaha’s racing DNA.
The Yamaha R15M carbon fibre pattern bike is priced at Rs 2,08,300. While the upgraded R15M in metallic grey is priced at Rs 1,98,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available for sale at all Yamaha dealerships across the country.
What is special in the new Yamaha R15M:
As we mentioned, the carbon fibre pattern is inspired by the carbon body work of the R1M and is created using modern water-dipping technology for a perfect finish. This pattern can be seen on the edges of the front cowl, side fairing and rear side panel. Apart from the carbon fibre pattern, the R15M gets an all-black fender, new decals on the tank and side fairing and blue coloured wheels at both ends.
The company has also upgraded this bike with some new features. It also has turn-by-turn navigation and music control function. Which can be accessed through the Y-Connect application available on Play Store (Android) / App Store (iOS). The rider just has to download and install the app on his smartphone to connect and sync with the bike. Not only this, it also has advanced switchgear and a new LED license plate light.
Speaking at the launch of the bike, Isshin Chihana, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, said, “Yamaha motorcycles are known for their great performance and attractive sporty design. Since its launch in 2008, the R15 has been the best performer in its category. We hope that this new upgrade will prove to be even more useful for the users.”
Power and performance:
There has been no change in the engine mechanism of this motorcycle. This bike comes with a 155cc fuel-injected engine as before. This engine generates 13.5kW of power and 14.2Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission gearbox.
Dedicated Traction Control:
This bike has a dedicated traction control system. The company says that this system reduces the possibility of wheel spin. The quick shifter facilitates smooth gear shifting without roll back on the throttle during manual clutch operation or upshifting. Apart from this, assist and slipper clutch helps in reducing lever pulling. Apart from this, many great features have been provided in it including a fully digital color TFT screen and Bluetooth connectivity.
