The auction for next season of the Women’s Premier League, known as WPL 2025, takes place today. Just last month, IPL 2025 held an auction with bids ranging from Rs 80-100 million per player and even over Rs 150 million. But if we talk about the Women’s Super League, 19 players are available for just Rs 95 crore. Now, all 5 teams are ready for this event to be held next year.

A total of 124 players participated in this mini-auction, with a total of 19 places. The team has retained most of its players, so it’s neither buying more players nor spending too much money. Only four players had bids exceeding Rs 1 crore in the entire auction. Apart from Indians Simran Sheikh, G Kammarini and Prema Rawat who did not feature for the national team, West Indies icon Deandra Dodin was also fetched at the auction High price.
Simran Sheikh is the most expensive player to buy this year
Simran was acquired by the Gujarat Giants for Rs 19 crore, making him the most expensive player in the WPL 2025 auction. He came in with a base price of Rs 10 lakh and witnessed a bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Giants. The Giants also signed Dodin, one of West Indies’ star players, for Rs 170 crore.
