Work progress will be checked frequently: DC Kishtwar to officials

The meetings aim to address challenges related to mobile connectivity in remote areas and ensure timely completion of highway projects.

The first meeting focused on the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Marwah and Warwan, where connectivity has been a major challenge.

The meeting, attended by key officials including SDM Marwah, Dr Mohamad Ashraf, ExEn Aslam Lone and representatives of telecom agencies such as BSNL and JIO, focused on the installation of mobile towers and laying of optical fiber in these shadowed areas.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all telecom agencies and executing contractors to adhere to the deadlines laid down in the meeting and expedite work by deploying additional manpower and machinery at the sites, besides working in two shifts.

He stressed that mobile connectivity is crucial for the overall development of these remote areas.

The DC further directed SDM Marwah to closely monitor the progress and ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated time. He said any delay would amount to imposing penalty provisions on the agency.

Telecommunications officials assured the government that infrastructure would be completed as a priority before the onset of harsh winter in the Marwah and Warwan districts.

They were informed of a deadline, failing which the SDM would take action against the persons concerned as per the law. In a separate meeting with NHIDCL representatives, Deputy Commissioner RK Shavan also inspected the progress of national highways in Kishtwar district.

The meeting discussed various issues related to the speed and quality of ongoing construction, emphasizing the importance of addressing any bottlenecks to ensure the smooth completion of the project. Various bottlenecks were also identified and corrective instructions issued.

The DC said he would frequently check the progress and quality of the work being done.
