Woman police officer Priyanka Bishnoi dies: Her health deteriorated after treatment in Jodhpur, she passed away in Ahmedabad Sims; CM expresses grief

SDM Priyanka Bishnoi: Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer and former Jodhpur ACM Priyanka Bishnoi died in a hospital in Ahmedabad after about 15 days of treatment. Priyanka Bishnoi had undergone uterine surgery at Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur but after her condition worsened, she was admitted to SIMS in Ahmedabad. The family has severely accused the Jodhpur doctors of negligence in treatment. The matter is being investigated on the orders of the Collector.

Regarding the negligent treatment of RAS officer Priyanka Bishnoi, Jodhpur district magistrate Gaurav Aggarwal has ordered the principal of Dr SN Medical College to conduct an inquiry into the private hospital.

Priyanka Bishnoi, who was from Bikaner, has been appointed Assistant Collector of Jodhpur. In recent days, doctors at Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur have been accused of negligence in treatment. After the news of Priyanka Bishnoi’s death came out, people posted thousands of posts on social media demanding action against the culprits.

After undergoing treatment at Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur, Priyanka’s health deteriorated and her family took her to SIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad, where she died on Wednesday evening. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has condoled the death of administrative officer Priyanka Bishnoi.

The CM wrote on ‘X’: “It is with great sadness that Priyanka Bishnoi ji, an officer of Rajasthan Administrative Service, passed away. This is a request to Lord Shri Ram ji to provide a place at His feet for the departed soul and give the family the strength to bear this sorrow.

The state president of Bishnoi Samaj Devendra Budiya has requested Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to conduct a CBI probe into the entire incident. Meanwhile, a team of five doctors has been formed by Dr. Bharti Saraswat, principal of Dr. SN Medical College, on the orders of the Collector, in relation to the entire incident. The committee includes Dr. Ranjana Desai of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Indu Thanvi of Internal Medicine, Dr. Vijay Sharma of Surgery, Dr. Naveen Paliwal of Anesthesiology, Dr. Shubhakaran Khichad of Neurology.

The last rites of Priyanka Bishnoi will be performed at Supra in Phalodi. Dr Sanjay Makwana, director of Vasundhara Hospital, said that Priyanka was fine throughout the night after the surgery on September 5. In the morning, he felt irritable and blood tests showed electrolyte imbalance. He was shifted to ICU for further examination and treatment, but the irritability persisted.

Meanwhile, an ultrasound doctor performed a stomach scan to find out any cause. An echocardiogram was also performed by a cardiologist to rule out any pathology. A neurologist was asked to find out the cause of the agitation and restlessness. Meanwhile, the medical staff requested to shift the patient to Ahmedabad for further treatment. On arrival, a CT scan showed isolated bleeding in the brain, mainly due to AV malformation (congenital malformation).

Priyanka Bishnoi’s body reached Jodhpur on Thursday morning and is currently undergoing postmortem at the AIIMS hospital mortuary. But people of the Bishnoi community are demanding a case be registered against Vasundhara Hospital. Hundreds of people from the society are on strike over this.
