A tragic incident occurred on Thursday in the Dhramkund area of Ramban Gool road, where a woman was crushed to death by an unknown tipper (dumper). The accident took place in the Chapran Nullah area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Dhramkund Police Station.
According to police sources, the driver of the tipper fled the scene immediately after the incident. The victim was identified as Raja Begum, the wife of Mishtaq Ahmed, and a resident of the Chapran area in Dhramkund.
Late Thursday evening, a police official from the Police Control Room in Ramban reported that, after extensive efforts, the vehicle involved in the accident was traced using CCTV footage. The driver was subsequently arrested, although police have not disclosed the identity of the driver or the vehicle’s registration number.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety in the region, as it follows other recent accidents on the Ramban-Gool road, which have claimed lives and raised alarms about vehicular traffic management and enforcement of safety regulations.
