2024-09-25 10:58:52 : Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today said that by abrogating Article 370, the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has eliminated the former A disgrace to J&K, which is on the path of progress and prosperity.

Addressing an election rally at Chenani in Udhampur district today, Gadkari sought support from BJP candidate Balwant Singh Mankotiya and said that as India will With Modi emerging as a global power, the entire scenario in India is changing rapidly.
Gadkari said that a country cannot have two constitutions, two flags and two heads of state, so after the BJP came to power, it abrogated the controversial Articles 370 and 35 A, making the former country of Johnson & Johnson different from other countries. The state is on an equal footing and it is fully integrated with the Union of India.
He said that the BJP has been raising the slogan “Jahan Hue Balidan Mookherjee Woh Kashmir Hamara Hai” (Kashmir where Dr. Shayama Prasad Mookherjee died is an integral part of India) and to achieve this goal, we abrogated Article 370 and fulfilled our to the country.
He said the BJP wanted to eradicate poverty from J&K and change the overall scenario of the Union Territory by creating development prospects.
The Union Minister said the BJP wants to eradicate poverty from J&K and take the Union Territory to new heights of development by promoting trade, industry and tourism to make it a self-reliant state.

He said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, India has become the fifth largest economy in the world and will become the third largest economy in the world. He said that India is rapidly embarking on the road of development and prosperity and is emerging as a world power. He added that in the next few years, it will become a five trillion dollar economy in the world and achieve its goal of becoming a ‘Wishaw Guru’.
Gadkari, while seeking Balwant Singh Mankotiya’s vote, said strengthening him would open new doors for Chenani’s Congress unit. He assured the people that he will take personal interest in the development of this constituency.
The federal minister said Mankotiya had also approached him earlier for development of the area and further, he was even interested in projects belonging to his department as other ministries also offered projects for this constituency.
He said that whatever Mankotia asked of him, he would try to resolve. He appealed to the people to vote for the BJP.
Earlier, Gadkari addressed an election rally at Mahanpur in Basoli Assembly area of Kathua district and appealed to people to vote for BJP candidate Darshan Singh.
Gadkari highlighted the development achieved in J&K during the Modi government, especially after the abrogation of Article 370. He said the pace of development in the United Emirates would continue after the BJP came to power in J&K by polls. Roads and other projects costing Rs 2,000 crore are currently being implemented in J&K, he said, listing various projects undertaken by his department.
He said the Rs 400-crore Lakhanpur-Doda-Bhadarwah corridor project is under proposal and is expected to be completed by 2027.
Later, Gadkari also addressed another election rally at Smailpur in Vijaypur Assembly segment of Samba district for BJP candidate and former minister Chander Parkash Ganga Looking for votes and support.
Senior BJP leader Ratna Kumari Shapra, who hails from Jaipur in Rajasthan and is campaigning in Jammu, also addressed Chenani’s election rally. She highlighted the various schemes launched by the Modi government to empower women in the country.
DDC Chairman Kathua (retd) Col Mahan Singh also addressed the election rally in Mahanpur.
