With experienced players out of Test series after ODIs, this team’s troubles don’t stop there

Bangladesh Cricket Team: A three-match ODI series is ongoing between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. In the first match of the series, Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 92 runs. Bangladesh’s victory in the first ODI looked certain for a moment but then the Bangladesh batsmen succumbed to the brilliant bowling of young Allah Ghazanfar. After the defeat, Bangladesh suffered a huge blow as veteran player Mushfiqur Rahim missed the remainder of the ODI series due to injury. Apart from this, he will not feature in the Test series against West Indies.

Mushfiqur Rahim injured his finger while fielding wicket during the first ODI against Afghanistan, Cricbuzz reported. X-rays have since confirmed the fracture. A member of Bangladesh’s selection panel told Cricbuzz that Mushfiqur will not play in the Test series against West Indies as he will need at least a month or more to recover.

Mushfiqur Rahim has retired from T20 International

Bangladesh will play a series of matches against West Indies, including two Test matches, three ODIs and three T20 matches. A member of the Bangladesh selection panel said that as far as the ODIs (against West Indies) are concerned, we will get time to take a decision after seeing Mushfiqur Rahim’s progress. Mushfiqur has announced his retirement from T20 International.

Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan and his replacement is yet to be announced. He has played all three formats of cricket for Bangladesh and has won many matches for the team with his ability. He has scored 6007 runs in 94 Test matches, 7793 runs in ODIs and 1500 runs in T20 Internationals for Bangladesh.
