The Sports Court has asked Vinesh to appoint her lawyer for the hearing. It is being told that the Government of India has been demanded to appoint a senior lawyer for the case, who will represent Vinesh and demand that she be given a joint silver medal. The hearing will take place at around 1:30 pm Indian time.
Actually, the hearing in CAS was earlier to be held on Thursday itself. The Court of Arbitration for Sport had offered 4 lawyers to represent Vinesh. Their names are Joel Monluis, Estelle Ivanova, Habin Estelle Kim and Charles Emson. These are all CAS’s pro bono lawyers for the Paris 2024 Olympics. But the Indian team asked for time to appoint an Indian lawyer for the hearing. On this, the court gave them time and adjourned the hearing to the next day i.e. Friday.
