Bangladesh took a 2-0 lead in the series with victory in the second T20 thanks to Taskin Ahmed’s brilliant bowling. Bangladesh defeated hosts West Indies by 27 runs to win their second consecutive T20I match. Bangladesh scored 129 runs for 7 wickets with their man-of-the-match Shamim Hossain scoring an unbeaten 35 runs off 17 balls. Mehdi Hasan Miraj also contributed 26 points. Spinner Gudakesh Moti took two wickets and scored 25 runs.
Bangladesh’s match was interrupted twice due to rain but the number of overs was not reduced. In reply, West Indies faced Taskin (three wickets, 16 runs), Rishad Hussain (two wickets, 12 runs), Mehdi Hasan (two wickets, 12 runs), wickets, 20 runs) and excellent bowling by Tanzeem Hassan Shakib (two wickets, 22 runs)) were reduced to 102 runs in 18.3 overs. Roston Chase was the home team’s leading scorer with 32 points, while Akil Hussain scored 31 points. Bangladesh won the first T20 series by 7 runs.
Bangladesh shows strength
West Indies won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first in the second T20I. Bangladesh got off to a very bad start. Opening pair Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar made a cheap return to the pavilion. West Indies batsmen disappointed
The West Indies batting looked very weak as they chased down Bangladesh’s score. Except for 3 batters, no one could touch double digits. Roston Chase scored a West Indies highest innings of 32 runs. West Indies could not even complete 20 overs, scoring just 102 runs in 18.3 overs. Just like that, the West Indies had to suffer a heavy defeat in the series.
