Why should the BJP give its ticket to Ramveer Singh from Kundarki? This is the BJP’s strategy to target Muslim voters

The by-election will be held in UP’s Kundarki seat, a Muslim-dominated seat. Since then, Thakur Ramveer Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Harji Rizwan of the Samajwadi Party have contested two elections each. However, SP won both times.

Like every time, there will be a close contest between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party in the Kundalki assembly seat. Also in 2012 and 2017, Thakur Ramveer of the BJP and Haji Rizwan of the Samajwadi Party went head-to-head. Now, they will face each other for the third time. SP has hosted the conference continuously from 2012 to 2022.

Why doesn’t the BJP field a Muslim candidate?

Before announcing the candidate, there were discussions that the BJP would field a Muslim leader from Kundalki as more than 60% of the population is Muslim, but the BJP once again expressed confidence in Thakur Ramveer Singh as Thakur Ramveer Kul Ramveer has his own political party besides the PPP and a Muslim vote bank and he has many Muslim supporters in Kundalki. In this case, if the BJP fields any external candidate, maybe she will not get as much benefit from the Muslim vote bank as Thakur Ramveer did.

How is the relationship with Muslim voters?

When Thakur Ramveer’s local Muslim supporters came to know why he was with them, he said his association with Thakur Ramveer was old. We have connected with them and supported them. Thakur Ramveer Singh also said in an interview with the media that people from every community are connected with him, he is familiar with the people of every village in Kundalki and he knows what problems exist there.

Ramveer Singh to contest elections for fourth time

Ramveer Singh, 54, will represent the Bharatiya Janata Party in the parliamentary elections for the fourth time. First, in 2007, he contested the elections for the Dehat parliamentary constituency. Thereafter, he contested elections from the Kundarki parliamentary constituency in 2012 and 2017, losing both times to Haji Rizwan of the Socialist Party. In 2012, Ramveer Singh got 64,101 votes, while in the 2017 elections, he got 99,740 votes, but the proportion of Muslim votes increased in the 2017 elections.
