Why Hemant Soren took oath alone in Jharkhand, Congress is tensed because of this tactic of JMM!

Hemant Soren

After victory in Jharkhand, Hemant Soren’s government will be sworn in. On November 28, today, only Hemant Soren took the oath. The size of the cabinet will be expanded later. Despite the coalition government, political discussions over Hemant’s sole oath remain intense.

The question being raised is what was the reason for Hemant taking oath alone and not with the cabinet. In 2019, Hemant Soren took oath along with 3 ministers. At that time, two ministers from the Congress quota had taken oath along with Hemant.

Why not expand the cabinets?

There are 4 political parties in the Indian Union in Jharkhand. This time provincial councilors from all four political parties have been elected. Under such circumstances, ensuring everyone’s participation is no less than a headache for Hemant Soren. There are a total of 12 posts in the Jharkhand cabinet.

JMM alone wants to win 7 positions. To do this, the party is using numbers as a basis. Like before, the Congress is also insisting on 4 seats. One of them was claimed by the MLA and the other by the RJD.

Due to lack of time, this issue has not been resolved. An in-person meeting is proposed for November 29th. Discussions on Male’ share in this regard will be finalized. Likewise, a decision will have to be taken on the ministerial posts of the RJD.

These are also 3 reasons to swear alone

Hemant Soren is the face – The entire election in the Indian Union state of Jharkhand is revolving around Hemant Soren. In charge of Hemant’s campaign. Hemant Soren is also a target of the BJP. Hemant rallied for the JMM and its allies.

Throughout the election period, Hemant, along with his wife Kalpana, addressed more than 200 rallies. In comparison, Congress and RJD leaders appear lagging behind. Congress leaders did not even hold 10 rallies in Jharkhand.

Now that the victory has been achieved, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is trying to turn the oath-taking ceremony into a Hemant ceremony. The poster printed on the swearing-in invitation had only Hemant Soren’s picture on it.

Stronger than 2019 – In 2019, Hemant Soren’s party won 30 seats and the JMM was 11 steps away from the magic figure of forming the government. He needed Congress then. Without the support of Congress, it is difficult for the government to function.

Things have changed now. Although the Congress also won 16 seats this time, the party did not play the role of kingmaker in the government.

The JMM won 34 seats and can easily run the government with the support of RJD and ML. This is why Hemant Soren’s party is not too biased towards the Congress.

The fight for second place is also the reason—— Congress is trying to appoint a minister as No. 2 in Hemant’s cabinet. The Congress also demanded the appointment of a deputy chief minister for this purpose, but Hemant Soren flatly refused.

It is said that if a Congress MP is sworn in as a minister along with Hemant, he will automatically become the number two. JMM doesn’t want that to happen.

JMM’s effort was to swear oath to all ministers at the same time. Congressional leaders, however, are hoping for some positive news in the final moments of their swearing-in.
