Why did CBI arrest Sandeep Ghosh’s bodyguard? Know how the former principal gave arbitrary contracts by doing RG

After the brutality with the doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital, the former principal of the college, Sandip Ghosh, is constantly under the scanner. He is also accused of financial irregularities, which is being investigated by the CBI. In this case, the CBI has also arrested Sandip Ghosh’s close associate and personal bodyguard Afsar Ali Khan. A video of Ali Khan also went viral on social media in which he was seen threatening the then RG Kar Principal Dr. Manas Banerjee. In this video, he is seen saying that he has a good relationship with the CM.

According to the information, Ali Khan was appointed as Additional Secretary in the hospital by the state government, but later he joined as the personal security guard of Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. But the question arises that why did the central investigating agency arrest him? What was his role in the alleged corruption?

Know why Afsar Ali was arrested

CBI sources claim that Dr Sandeep Ghosh gave preference to his close associate Afsar Ali Khan in the allotment of the contract of a cafe in the campus of RG Kar Hospital. The contract was signed between RG Kar Hospital and M/s Ehsan Cafe. Afsar Ali Khan’s wife Nargis Khatoon is the owner of this firm. However, Afsar Ali Khan used to manage this firm. CBI says that this contract was given to Afsar Ali Khan due to his close relationship with Sandeep Ghosh. According to sources, Dr Sandeep Ghosh also returned the non-refundable caution money to the firm of Nargis, the wife of the security guard.

Two other associates also benefited

CBI claims that during the investigation of alleged financial irregularities in RG Kar Hospital, it was revealed that apart from Afsar Ali Khan, Sandeep Ghosh also got contracts for his close associates Biplab Singha and Suman Hazra in the hospital in violation of rules.

Raids in many places

Sandeep Ghosh has been arrested by the CBI. The CBI raided about 15 places including Sandeep’s house. According to the information, during this time the CBI got hold of many important documents. Let us tell you that a former officer of RG Tax had also accused Sandeep Ghosh of many serious charges including smuggling and hooliganism.
