In fact, the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fell on 26 August in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. This statue was installed at Rajkot Fort in Malvan Tehsil. Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled it on the occasion of Navy Day on December 4, 2023. The government took immediate action when the statue broke and also apologized for the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also apologized. PM Modi expressed regret and apologized for the fall of Shivaji Maharaj’s statue in a program organized in Palghar.

MVA had launched a shoe-hit movement

CM Shinde also said that if needed, he would not hesitate to touch Shivaji Maharaj’s feet 100 times and apologize. Meanwhile, the opposition parties’ alliance Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) united and launched a ‘Joote Maaro Andolan’ against the government two days ago. A foot march was taken out from Hutatma Chowk in South Mumbai to the Gateway of India. MVA leaders including Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, Nana Patole participated in it. During this, Uddhav hit the poster with a slipper.
