In Bahraich, man-eating wolves have created such terror that it has become difficult for people to come out of their homes. People are guarding in groups 24 hours a day. In fact, a pack of wolves has killed 9 people. These include 8 children including a woman. In such a situation, the question arises that why do wolves make children their prey. Why do wolves, called wild animals, attack people only at night and why do they move in packs?

Regarding the behavior and attacking pattern of wolves, Delhi Zoo’s Range Officer Saurabh Vashisht says that wolves always move in a pack. They are considered to be very loyal. They move up to 25 kilometers in a pack of 30-40 at a time. If we talk about the wolves in the zoo, their nature is different from the wolves living in the forest.

It is easy for wolves to pick up a child
If they are in an open herd and wherever they fear for their lives, they attack people. They go to places where they find food again and again. It is easier for them to hunt at night. That is why wolves hunt more at night. In populated areas, they especially prey on children because it is easier for them to pick up children. They hunt only to fill their stomachs.

Once you hunt a human, you get used to it
Saurabh explains that wolves hunt small animals. In the zoo, the administration takes care of their food and drink. In such a situation, their nature changes. If they once get used to human blood or human meat, they try to eat humans again and again.

Attacking and aggression are included in the nature
Hunting, attacking and aggression are part of the nature of wolves. When an animal is confined, its needs are fulfilled. However, when they are in the open, their pattern changes. Because in the open, the head wolf has to pay attention to the other wolves as well. In such a situation, they attack where the prey is easily available.

Difference between tiger, lion and wolf
According to Saurabh, there is a lot of difference in the nature of tiger, lion and wolf. For example, tiger always stays alone. But lions always move in a herd. Tigers do not care much about humans, but it is different in wolves. They do not have any problem in living with humans. Wolves are considered to be more calm than lions and tigers.

What will happen to the wolves of Bahraich?
Now you might have a question in your mind that what happens to these wild animals when they are caught. Actually these animals are searched for by the forest department and after being caught they will be kept under observation for a few days. If they are not injured in any way and their health is fine then they will be released back into the forest.
