AAP jointly provides services to Purvanchal and Dalit
Amid the election fever in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP has simultaneously opened two fronts against the BJP. The first front has been opened in support of the Dalits. To address Amit Shah’s statement about Bhimrao Ambedkar, AAP announced Ambedkar scholarship for Dalits.
A second front has opened regarding Purvanchali. In the Union House, BJP president JP Nadda raised the issue of Rohingyas and AAP said the BJP was cutting off their votes by calling Povanchalis Rohingyas. Sanjay Singh leads this roadblock.
Assembly elections are proposed for 70 seats in Delhi in February 2025, in which the AAP will compete directly with the BJP.
This is how AAP serves Dalits and Purvanchals.
The Aam Aadmi Party is trying to woo Dalits through Ambedkar. The party announced the Ambedkar Scholarship for Dalit children studying abroad. Arvind Kejriwal described Dalits as gods and said the decision was a true tribute to them.
Sanjay Singh held a press conference on Saturday to woo voters in Purvanchal. Singh said the BJP is trying to drive out the Purvanchali people from Delhi in the name of the Rohingyas and we will not let this happen.
Whose Dalit, his Delhi
In the capital Delhi, Dalits are playing a game-changer role. It is said that no matter which side the Dalits are on, he alone holds power in the capital city of Delhi. Dalits constitute about 17% here and 12 seats have been reserved for them in the Assembly.
In the 2020 Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won all 12 seats reserved for Dalits. In the 2015 elections too, AAP won all the seats reserved for Dalits.
In 2013, the AAP won nine of the 12 seats reserved for Dalits. The BJP won 2 victories and the Congress won one victory. In 2013, despite being the largest party, the BJP failed to come to power in the state.
Four seats in Parliament are reserved for Dalits but the BJP has not won them so far. This time, the Congress, along with the Bharatiya Janata Party, is also busy helping Dalits. Delhi’s Dalits were once considered the Congress party’s core constituency, but that has changed.
Purvanchali also leads the way in disrupting games
Purvanchal voters constitute about 19% of Delhi and they play a major role in winning or losing about 29 assembly seats. Purvanchali voters dominate Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, Kirari, Burari, Sangam Vihar, Trilokpuri and Samaypur Badli seats.
In the last elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won all these seats. You’re trying to get it back. AAP Delhi state president Gopal Rai also hails from Purvanchal.
AAP shared a poster on social media through which the party spoke about its work for Purvanchal voters. Meanwhile, the BJP has called AAP’s campaign against Purvanchal voters a lie.
Parties in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are also in a strong position here due to the voice of Purvanchal voters. Political parties like JDU, RJD, LJP and BSP got about 2% of the votes in the last election.
70 seat elections, focus on 7 political parties
Many political parties will field their candidates in the elections to Delhi’s 70 assembly seats, but all eyes will be on seven parties. Among them, the Congress Party, AAP and BJP are the main political parties. This time, the entire Delhi battle is said to be between AAP and BJP. However, Congress is also in a strong position this time.
Apart from these three parties, Janata Dal United, Shiromani Akali Dal, Bahujan Samaj Party and AIMIM will also contest the Delhi elections. JDU contested 2 seats last time. The Philippine central bank also has a strong support base in Delhi.
While SAD plays an effective role in Sikh-dominated seats, AIMIM is eyeing Muslim-dominated seats.
