Jharkhand IT department raids
The Jharkhand Income Tax Department took major action on Saturday. The income tax department raided the residence of Chief Minister Heman Soren’s personal adviser Sunil Srivastava. The Income Tax department raided seven locations in Ranchi and multiple locations in Jamshedpur city.
In Jharkhand, the process of assembly elections is about to begin. Meanwhile, the Income Tax department has taken this action. A team from the Income Tax department reached Sunil Srivastava’s residence in Ashok Nagar, Ranchi in the morning and conducted a raid. At the same time, raids were carried out on the homes of many others.
Who is Sunil Srivastava?
Sunil Srivastava is close to all the major leaders of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Party including Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. He served as CM Hemant Soren’s personal secretary for a long time. Before serving as the CM’s private secretary, he was an engineer in the government department. After this, Sunil Srivastava quit his job and started working as an assistant to Hemant Soren. Sunil Srivastava is also a member of the central committee of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Party and a star activist of the party.

On this raid by the income tax department, BJP president Babulal Marandi said that now this is the job of income tax officers, just like we have our job, just like there are elections, we are campaigning. Every agency, every organization has its own job and they are doing their own job.
ED also raids
ED also conducted raids in Jharkhand before the Income Tax Department. On October 14, ED raided the house of a businessman named Vijay Aggarwal in Indrapuri, Rattu Road, Ranchi. Besides, a house on Harihar Singh Road in Morabadi area was also raided. It is understood that the raid was related to the Jal Jeevan Mission scam.
ED raided more than 20 locations in Ranchi. During this period, ED also raided the premises of IAS officers Manish Ranjan, Vinay Thakur, brother of Jharkhand government minister Mithilesh Thakur and many departmental engineers.
The Income Tax department has also conducted raids in Jharkhand as the assembly elections are very close to. Voting will be held in two phases in 81 seats in Jharkhand. Polling will be held in Jharkhand from November 13 to 20. Thereafter, the election results will be announced on November 23.
