Union Minister Kiren Rijiju’s statement has come out on the new claim of Chinese intrusion in Arunachal Pradesh. The Union Minister said, ‘It was shown in social media and local media that the Chinese PLA (army) has put some marks in some areas of Arunachal Pradesh.’

Kiren Rijiju further said, ‘We all know the situation. The Government of India, our Defense Ministry and the Ministry of External Affairs are engaged in talks. Our position is clear that the Chinese Army or Chinese forces will not be allowed to build any kind of permanent structure outside their Line of Control.’

PLA tries to mark

The Union Minister said, ‘There are some areas in Arunachal Pradesh where the total area is undetermined. The borders have not been demarcated from the beginning. So in such a situation, our Indian forces and Chinese forces keep coming and going in each other’s controlled area. Due to inaccessible and undetermined areas, sometimes the patrolling party goes into areas that have not been determined. They try to mark, also put some kind of things on the ground.’

No permission to build permanent structures

Speaking on the claim of intrusion, Rijiju said, ‘Ever since our government came, China has not been allowed to establish any permanent structure inside our Line of Control and neither will it be allowed. We will not let any other country grab our land. Be it China or any other country.

Marking doesn’t mean that…

Kiren Rijiju said that marking in undemarcated areas does not mean that there has been encroachment in that area. Patrolling of Indian and Chinese armies overlaps in undemarcated areas. Temporary marking will not lead to encroachment on our territory.

Objection was raised on PM Modi’s visit

Let us tell you that in March 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Arunachal Pradesh. After his visit, China was irritated and reacted strongly. However, later the Indian government outrightly rejected China’s comments. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said, ‘We reject the comments made by the Chinese side regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh. Indian leaders keep visiting Arunachal Pradesh from time to time along with visiting other states.’ During his visit, PM Modi also inaugurated the Sela Tunnel along with several development projects.
