Whenever Prime Minister Modi visits any country in the world, he never forgets to present items related to Indian culture and heritage to the heads of state of these countries. During his visits to Nigeria, Brazil and Guyana, Prime Minister Modi brought unique gifts from all corners of the country. During the visit, the Prime Minister carried 8 gifts from Maharashtra, 5 gifts from Jammu and Kashmir, 3 gifts each from Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, and 3 gifts from Jharkhand. 2 gifts, one each from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and Ladakh.
These gifts from Maharashtra include the Silofer Panchamrit Kalash (Pot) – an excellent example of traditional craftsmanship from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, which was presented to the President of Nigeria. A natural rough sapphire stone from Pune with a silver camel’s head on top was presented to the Prime Minister of Australia. Hand-engraved silver chess set with traditional design presented to the Prime Minister of Portugal. An exquisite silver candlestick was presented to the Prime Minister of Italy, and a hand-carved silver fruit bowl with intricate patterns of peacocks and trees was presented to the Secretary-General of CARICOM.
In Guyana, President Irfaan Ali enjoyed a seven-curry meal at his official residence. Served on lily pads, this meal has huge cultural significance in Guyana and highlights the deep and enduring connections between our two countries.

Gifts from Rajasthan include a silver photo frame with floral patterns for the President of Argentina, showcasing the state’s rich heritage of fine metalwork and traditional patterns; a “marble inlaid work” also known as “Pietra Dura”, which The base marble was taken from Makrana in Rajasthan and was presented to the Prime Minister of Norway; the wooden and gold sculpture of Raj Savari perfectly demonstrates the traditional craftsmanship of India, combining complex gold carvings with exquisite wood carvings Combined and presented to the Prime Minister of Guyana.

Other gifts include an elaborately carved silver mahogany ceremonial photo frame from Uttar Pradesh to the President of Chile; a wooden toy train, a signature product of the small town of Channapatna in Karnataka, was presented to the President of Guyana son. Tanjore paintings of Tamil Nadu, Madhubani paintings presented to the President of France, also known as Mithila paintings.
Traditional art originating from the Mithila region of Bihar was presented to the President of Guyana. A rare and beautifully crafted filigree boat made of sterling silver – an example of the ancient silver filigree art of Cuttack, Odisha, presented to the Vice President of Guyana; and a Ladakhi kettle decorated with semi-precious stones, presented to Speaker of the National Assembly of Guyana.
