Yogi Adityanath, Devendra Fadnavis, Bhajanlal Sharma and Mohan Yadav

In Maharashtra, the chief minister will be from the BJP, but there is still suspense over his face. From Delhi to Mumbai, many people are in the race for the chief ministership, but after 2014, every time the BJP spent more than 72 hours electing a chief minister, a surprising face entered the chief minister’s seat.

In this case, there is a lot of speculation about Maharashtra as well. Over 72 hours have passed here too.

1. The BJP has a chance to form the government in Odisha in 2024. The BJP took eight days to choose the chief minister. The party finally approved Mohan Majhi’s name. Majhi belongs to the tribal community.

The main contenders for the post of Chief Minister of Odisha were Dharmendra Pradhan and Manmohan Sambal, but surprisingly Mohan Majhi emerged.

2. At the end of 2023, the Bharatiya Janata Party was also in power in Rajasthan. Here too, the debate over the chief minister’s post continued for nine days. Strong contenders for the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan in 2023 include Vasundhara Raje and Kirori Lal Meena.

3. In 2023, the Bharatiya Janata Party also returned to power in Madhya Pradesh. The chief minister at that time was Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Chouhan was also the frontrunner for the chief minister’s post, but eventually his card was axed. Mohan Yadav replaced Shivraj as chief minister.

Mohan Yadav was not even contesting for the post of chief minister at that time. The Bharatiya Janata Party took eight days to elect the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.

Political experts were shocked when the BJP announced the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. The BJP handed over the chief ministership to then Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath.

6. In 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party became the largest political party in Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar’s NCP gave him external support. This year, the BJP took seven days to form the government. The Legislature held a session when Rajnath Singh left Delhi as an observer. Devendra Fadnavis was elected as the leader at the legislative party meeting. Fadnavis was the then state president of the BJP.

Fadnavis’ arrival came as a surprise. At that time, Nitin Gadkari, Vinod Tawde and Pankaja Munde were the strong contenders for the chief ministership of the BJP.

7. Along with Maharashtra, Haryana results are also coming. The BJP also came to power in Haryana. Here too, the BJP took more than seven days to select the chief minister. While choosing the chief minister, Manohar Lal Khattar left behind leaders like Anil Vij and Ram Vilas Sharma. The addition of Qatar was surprising.

8. In 2017, the BJP won in Uttarakhand along with Uttar Pradesh. At that time, big names like Bhagat Singh Koshyari, BC Khanduri and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank were in the running for the chief minister’s post.

The BJP sidelined leaders like Prem Dhumal, JP Nadda and handed over the chief ministership to Jairam Thakur. Thakur served as chief minister from 2017 to 2022.

If the decision is made before 72 hours, the same situation will be repeated.
