A shocking incident has come to light in Mumbai’s Bhandup area, where a 33-year-old man attacked his girlfriend with a knife. After this, he also cut his own neck with a knife. It is said that the man attacked his girlfriend because she refused to talk to him. Currently both of them have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The woman is being treated at Mulund General Hospital, while the accused has been admitted to Sion Hospital.

Both were in a relationship for five years

According to the Bhandup police, the accused has been booked under IPC sections 109 (attempt to murder), 118(1) (causing hurt by dangerous weapon), 118(2) (causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon), 352 (intentional insult to breach the peace) as well as sections 37(1)(a) and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.

According to the information, the victim lives with her 15-year-old son and 19-year-old sister. She works as a domestic help. Her husband died in 2016. Police said that the accused and the victim knew each other for the last five years and were in a relationship. Due to some issues, the woman had stopped talking to Bhagne, due to which he was angry.

Police started investigation

Bhagne wanted to talk, but the woman refused and asked him to leave. Angered by this, Bhagne started arguing with her. In anger, he took out a knife and slit her throat. Seeing her bleeding, he tried to kill himself by stabbing himself in the neck. Both were injured. Passersby rushed both of them to the hospital. The woman has 15 stitches on her neck and is now out of danger, but Bhagne’s condition remains critical and he has been admitted to Sion Hospital for further treatment. Bhandup police have registered an FIR in the case and are investigating.
