In Firozabad, UP, the new bride was killed by her in-laws after she did not get a car worth Rs 15 lakh as dowry. According to the report, the girl got married only 14 days ago. The girl’s family alleged that their daughter was murdered on Sunday. The incident took place in Bichhwa village of Sisauli police station area of Mainpur.
According to the father of the deceased bride, the groom Atul had called the girl’s mother at 1.58 pm on Sunday night and told her to make his daughter understand otherwise he would strangulate her to death. After this the phone got switched off. Actually, Udayveer, living in Bichhwa village, had married his 27-year-old daughter Anamika to Atul Kumar of Bhikanpur village on 14 July 2024, i.e. 15 days ago. The marriage of both of them was conducted with great pomp.
Since Atul was doing BTC (Basic Teaching Certificate 2 years course) from District Education and Training Institute Firozabad and Anamika was also doing BTC from the same institute, hence the issue of dowry in marriage had not come to light earlier. But from the second day of the marriage, Atul Kumar (groom) father-in-law Ramesh Chand, mother-in-law Mithilesh, brother-in-law Jitendra Singh started demanding a car worth Rs 15 lakh from the girl.
Atul repeatedly told Anamika that his father Udayveer had given a car as dowry in Anamika’s elder sister’s marriage, so now he also wanted a car worth Rs 15 lakh. Due to this very thing, a lot of pressure was put on Anamika and she started being beaten.
Anamika also told her father several times that her in-laws were beating her due to not getting a car. Even on Sunday evening he told his father that he was being tortured. Her in-laws are bent on killing her for dowry.
After this, the girl’s father Udayveer also talked to his son-in-law several times and asked him to sit down and settle the matter, but on Sunday evening he received a call from daughter Anamika. On the phone he told that his in-laws were beating him badly. After this Anamika’s phone got switched off. After this, late on Sunday night, Atul’s call reached Udayveer and said that your daughter has died, take her away.
Udayveer from Mainpuri hurriedly reached his daughter’s in-laws’ house in Bhikhanpur village in the morning where his daughter’s body was lying on the ground. After this, the father of the deceased girl filed a case of dowry murder against her in-laws. According to SP, a case has been registered against 6 people and efforts are being made to arrest them.
