WhatsApp down in India, many users say unable to send messages, upload status

New Delhi:

Meta -owned popular messaging app WhatsApp went down to users in India on Saturday, unable to send messages and upload the situation.

According to the app outage tracking platform down detector, at least 81 percent of the users reported problems with the message while 16 percent with the overall app experience.

“Is it just me or your WhatsApp below? I am trying to upload the situation and are taking it forever,” said a user on X.

WhatsApp had no immediate statement on the outage.

Some users reported a similar outage on Facebook and Instagram, both owned by meta.

“Hey @Whatsapp, what is the app down? I am having trouble sending messages – they are not just going. Are you facing someone else?” Posted a user.

In late February, WhatsApp experienced a large -scale outage, unable to use the app properly for many users around the world.

The users were unable to connect or send any calls through the WhatsApp app or WhatsApp web. The down detector reported more than 9,000 complaints that day.

Earlier in the day, digital payments through the Integrated Payment Interface (UPI) returned to most users, when the popular service faced a nationwide outage affecting millions of users.

Digital services on many online payment platforms were interrupted across the country, obstructing local purchases, bill payments and commercial transactions.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which operates UPI services, posted on the X social media platform that disruptions were due to technical issues.

NPCI shared in a post on the social media platform X, “NPCI is currently facing intermittent technical issues, leading to a decline in partial UPI transactions.”
