Momo is one of the most sold street foods in India today. It is sold in all types like steamed, fried, veg and non-veg. Apart from this, dimsums that look almost similar are available in restaurants. Due to their similar appearance, very few people are able to know the basic difference between these two dishes and consider both of them as momos. Now recently a debate has started on social media regarding these momos and dimsums.

‘If it comes in a bamboo box- dim sum…’

An ex-user Rishabh Kaushik shared a screenshot of a chat. In this, the other person had asked him- If you are from Delhi, then tell me one thing, what is the difference between momos and dimsums? Rishabh jokingly replied to this by writing- ‘It is of the utensil, if it comes in a bamboo box, then it is dimsum, if it comes in a plate, then it is momo.’ In the caption of the post, he had written- Am I right or not?

‘There is a difference in status between the two’

Then what, there was a flood of comments on this post. One person jokingly wrote – There is a difference in status, if it comes for 50 rupees then it is momos, if it comes for 450 rupees then it is dimsums. Another wrote – Dimsum is the brother of momo who has gone to China for higher studies. The post shared on September 1 has received 1.36 lakh views so far and people are commenting a lot on it.
