After scrapping the old liquor policy, the NDA government led by N Chandrababu Naidu started implementing a new liquor policy in Andhra Pradesh from Thursday, PTI reported. Taking into account the new policy, a new “computer model” will manage domestic and foreign brands supplied by retail stores, a government official said. The model will determine supply by capturing data related to market demand. The official said that initially only 10,000 cases of the liquor brand will be allowed in the market. Under this provision, brands will be allowed to sell 150% of that amount based on the state’s alcohol sales over the past three months.

Many big brands have settled in the state
According to the person in charge, after the implementation of the new liquor policy, all domestic and foreign liquor brands have begun to enter the state. He said that in addition to Diageo, brands from many large companies, including Pernod Ricard and William Grant and Sons, will be almost unavailable between 2019 and 2024. , are now available for purchase.

Brands that sell more will be bought more.
According to reports, before the assembly elections held this year, the current chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, was the leader of the opposition at the time. He accused the former YSRCP government of high prices and poor quality of liquor. Explaining how the new liquor policy will be implemented in the state, the official said brands that sell more will buy more. However, each registered alcohol brand will have the opportunity to sell its products.

How to buy wine for 99 rupees?
According to PTI, under the new liquor policy of the Andhra Pradesh NDA government led by Chandrababu Naidu, customers will be able to get a 180ml bottle of liquor for less than Rs 99. An official statement said that premium liquor will be available in all liquor stores across the state and all premium brands will be available in all liquor stores across the state from today.

3,396 liquor stores licensed
The southern state recently collected Rs 1,800 crore in application fees from around 90,000 liquor store applicants and allotted licenses to 3,396 shops through a lottery on October 14. Notably, Andhra Pradesh, which is suffering from a cash crunch, is expected to collect around Rs 20,000 crore through license fees and liquor sales in the remaining months of the fiscal year 2024-25.
