Pakistan set a new record by defeating Australia in ODI series. With excellent bowling, Pakistan won the three-match ODI series 2-1. In this way, the Pakistan team created the miracle of winning the series on Australian soil after 22 years. With this, Pakistan achieved a great feat by winning this series in Australia for the second time in any format.
Australia won the first game but Pakistan won the last two ODIs and won the series. Fast bowler Haris Rauf was the hero of Pakistan’s historic win. He achieved the great feat of taking 5 wickets in the second match and in the third ODI match, he bowled economically and took 2 wickets in the bag. In this way, he achieved a feat that even Virat Kohli could not achieve.
Haris Rauf sets a unique record
In fact, Haris Rauf took 10 wickets in the entire series. In the second match, he won the Man of the Match award with 5 wickets. He also became the man of the match in the third game. In the end, the Player of the Series award was also awarded to Harris Lauf. In this way, he became the fifth player in the past 10 years to win the Player of the Series in an ODI series held on Australian soil, and the first bowler in the world to win the Player of the Series.
Even Virat Kohli failed to achieve this feat in the last 10 years. However, the achievement was recorded under the names of India’s Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni emerged as the player of the 2019 ODI series in Australia. Rohit Sharma did the same thing in 2016. Apart from this, David Miller achieved this feat in 2019 and Joe Root achieved it in 2018. Interestingly, among all the players from these clubs, Haris Rauf is the only bowler. The rest are hitters.
