The first caste census

Rajnath Singh, Priyanka Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav mentioned caste census in their speeches. The caste census issue dominates the headlines in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Many political parties, including Congress and Samajwadi Party, are demanding a caste-based census. The government had previously been silent on the matter, but for the first time it showed a positive attitude in the House of Representatives.

– Union Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking on behalf of the BJP, said there would be no problem in conducting the census. It should also be communicated who is prepared to book based on this number. Rajnath further said that if the Speaker agrees, then the Parliament should debate it.

– Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi also mentioned the caste census. Priyanka said after the Lok Sabha defeat, now these people are talking about caste-based census. When we raised this issue in the Lok Sabha elections, these people were talking about the Mangalsutra and the theft of buffaloes. Priyanka has openly advocated caste census.

– Akhilesh also mentioned caste census in his speech. The SP chief said that the posts of vice-chancellors and professors in central universities are filled by only 10% of the total population. The government should publish its data. This government is only talking about caste census. If we get a chance to come to the government, we will conduct a caste census.

All three talked about the constitution

The subject of the parliamentary debate was the constitution, so all three leaders publicly expressed their views on it. In fact, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the promulgation of the Constitution, the Lok Sabha has organized a two-day debate. Rajnath Singh started the debate.

– Rajnath Singh said that whenever the Congress government gets a chance to choose between the Constitution and power, the Congress will choose power. Singh mentioned the events from the Emergency to the fall of the Kalyan Singh government. He said Congress carries the Constitution in its pocket.

– In her speech, Priyanka Gandhi mentioned the power of the Constitution. Priyanka said those who talk about old times will not tell how elected governments were toppled on the basis of money. Priyanka said that the Constitution is the voice of the country and it is the people who are saving the country. He said the country’s constitution was not so weak that anyone could crush it. The country did not remain in the hands of cowards for long.

– Akhilesh Yadav also spoke openly about the Constitution in his speech. He said the words “national security and secularism” were mentioned in the preamble but today’s borders are not secure. The SP chief further said that searches are being carried out at temples under every mosque in the country. This is not constitutionally correct. Akhilesh also raised the issue of targeting minorities.

UP is at the center of three presentations

Rajnath Singh, Priyanka Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav are all national level leaders, but Uttar Pradesh is the three centerpiece of the speech. Rajnath Singh initiated it. In his speech, Singh referred to the President’s rule in Uttar Pradesh.

He said that when the dome collapsed in Ayodhya in 1992, the then Kalyan Singh government resigned as UP chief minister but the resignation was not accepted by the then Congress government. Instead, the government was dismissed within hours.

Rajnath Singh also mentioned the Jagdambikar Pal incident in his speech, to which some MPs laughed.

In her speech, Priyanka tried to corner the UP and the central government through Agra, Sambhar and Hathras. He attacked the BJP over the issue of atrocities and police action in Uttar Pradesh.

When it was Akhilesh Yadav’s turn to speak, he too put UP at the center of his speech. Akhilesh said he was originally going to form a dual-engine government in Uttar Pradesh, but now apart from the engines, the coaches have also collided.

Akhilesh said UP has emerged as the number one place for deaths in custody. The government there is preying on minorities.

He even openly discussed the issue of leaving the party

Rajnath Singh, while talking about the Constitution, referred to an incident that happened in Uttar Pradesh in 1998, when Jagdambikar Pal was appointed chief minister, replacing Kalyan, despite having an absolute majority. Singh. Pal was also sitting with Singh in the House when he said this.

Opposition MPs made noise in response to which Singh later responded that he realized his mistake and hence he has now switched parties to the BJP.

Priyanka also raised defections as an issue. Priyanka says you have a washing machine. There, everyone who goes from here to there is cleansed.

When Akhilesh stood up to speak, he also took a dig at those who have traveled from here to there.
