Pakistan created history by winning the third ODI in Perth on Sunday, November 10. Pakistan won the third ODI match by eight wickets. Australia, who batted first, could not maintain their lead even after 50 overs, scoring only 140 runs in 31.5 overs. Pakistan’s fast bowlers played a major role in Australia’s defeat at such a low score. Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah took 3 wickets each while Haris Rauf scored only 24 runs in 7 overs, Dismissed 2 batters.
Chasing Australia’s 140, Pakistan’s opener got the team off to a good start for the second consecutive match and posted a partnership of 84 for the first wicket. Although Sam Ayub returned to the pavilion after scoring 42 points and Abdullah Shafiq scored 37, captain Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam led the team to achieve the target with 26.5 overs.
Pakistan beats India
With this, Pakistan defeated Australia in a 50-over series for the first time since 2002. Throughout the series, Australia’s batting lineup looked very weak against Pakistan’s fast bowling attack, causing the Kangaroos to endure the pain of losing an ODI series at home for the first time in five years. The way Pakistan won this series has become a major record.
A great miracle happened on Australian soil
In fact, Australia has only lost 9 series at home in the history of ODI cricket. During this period, only two teams have achieved the great feat of beating Australia twice at home in ODIs. The first team is South Africa, which has won the ODI series against Australia at home in 2009 and 2018. Now Pakistan becomes the second team to do so. In 2002, Pakistan won the ODI series for the first time on Australian soil. Not only that, Pakistan also became the first Asian team to win a two-match ODI series against Australia on Australian soil. Even teams like India and Sri Lanka have not been able to achieve this feat so far. India won the only bilateral ODI series against Australia in 2019 in Australia.
