‘We’re not going to bowl the ball of our choice’, India coach says ahead of Mumbai Test

The results of the three-match Test series between India and New Zealand are out. After taking 8 wickets in the Bengaluru Test, New Zealand won the Pune Test and achieved the great feat of winning a Test series on Indian soil for the first time. On the other hand, the Indian team suffered a defeat in a home Test match after 12 years. Now hosts India are in danger of a sweep and to avoid that, the third Test has to be won or drawn no matter what.

The third Test will begin on November 1 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, whose pitch has been widely discussed on social media. In fact, many media reports claim that the Indian team management has asked the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to switch to the pitch. Now, Indian team assistant coach Abhishek Nair has made a big statement about this. Nair denied that the pitch was being prepared in favor of spin. Abhishek Nair said he did not prepare the field as required during Test matches. Nair said he wished he could prepare the pitch the way he wanted, but he failed to do so. This is what curators do. Teams will play on designated pitches.

Will Rohit Virat make a comeback?

India captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli have remained silent during the first two Test matches in New Zealand. Rohit scored only 62 runs in 4 innings while Virat could only score 88 runs in the same innings. The two batsmen’s knock produced just 1-1 half-centuries. Despite the poor performance, Abhishek Nair stood up to support Rohit and Virat. He said that when a big-name player goes through a difficult phase, it is sometimes necessary to give them time and trust that they will bounce back. They will work hard. Everyone wants to perform well. Be it Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma or young players like Shubman Gill. There is effort.

Team faces daunting challenges

Team India now faces the challenge of salvaging honors in the series. After playing the third Test match against New Zealand, the Indian team will leave for the Australia tour where the 5-match Test match of the Border-Gavaskar series will be played. The series begins in Perth on November 22. As far as the World Test final is concerned, this series is very important for both the teams.
