Indian-origin US entrepreneur and Republican party member Vivek Ramaswamy spoke about the immigrant issues in the US as he addressed delegates on the second day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Tuesday.

The former Trump rival, who later turned into a cheerleader of the former president, said that immigrants who are in the US illegally should be deported back to their home countries. He added that deporting immigrants will ‘make America great again’ – using Donald Trump’s famous phrase.

“Our message to every legal immigrant in this country is this. You’re like my parents,” Ramaswamy said, referring to his Indian-origin parents, who moved to the US from Palakkad, in the Indian state of Kerala, to Ohio, in the early 1980s.

“You deserve the opportunity to secure a better life for your children in America. But our message to illegal immigrants is also this. We will return you to your country of origin, not because you’re all bad people, but because you broke the law, and the United States of America was founded on the rule of law.” he said.
