Kyiv:
Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky said on Thursday that he was “information”, supplying weapons to Russia, on Moscow’s support for Moscow amidst a growing row between Kiev and Beijing.
Zelansky said last Wednesday that Kiev was aware of at least 155 Chinese citizens, deployed to assist Moscow’s invasion, a day later the Ukrainian army had caught two Chinese troops in the eastern Donetsk region.
“We have finally received information that China is supplying weapons to the Russian Union,” Zelansky told reporters at a press conference in Kiev.
“We believe that Chinese representatives are engaged in production of some weapons in the Russian region,” he said.
Zelansky did not explain his allegations in detail, saying that only Kiv was “ready” to talk about them in detail.
China has depicted itself as a neutral party in a three -year war, despite criticism by Western governments that its close relationship with Russia has given Moscow a significant economic and diplomatic support.
Beijing last week pushed Ukraine’s claims back, calling all sides to avoid “irresponsible comments” in the conflict.
