The by-election to Wayanad seat in Kerala will be held on November 13, with Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi filing her nomination on Wednesday, while the BJP’s Navia Harida She will compete against Navya Haridas, who will file her nomination on Thursday. Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi went on a road show, which Navya Haridas lashed out at and claimed that the show had gathered crowds by lying.
Priyanka Gandhi tried her luck in the electoral arena for the first time and conducted a roadshow there. Reacting to this, Haridas said that people were taken there on the pretext of shooting and visiting tourist spots in Wayanad, due to which a huge crowd gathered at the roadshow. Naya Haridas will file nomination as the BJP candidate from Wayanad on Thursday. He said that Priyanka Gandhi’s arrival and roadshow is like a seasonal festival that comes only once a year but people will see it.
‘BJP has no such standards’
Haridas further pointed out that the Congress general secretary emerged as an important candidate only because of her political background. But corporate committee members like me have many years of experience in dealing with people and are people who have worked at the grassroots level. If family is the measure of a candidate’s greatness, then only she (Priyanka) can claim it. The BJP has no such standards and I cannot claim such greatness.
