Leader of Opposition and Congress Member of Parliament (MP) launching a scathing attack on on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 

displayed a poster with an image of Lord Shiva while speaking in Lok Sabha on July 1, Monday. The Raebareli Member of Parliament (MP) also launched a

“All our great men have spoken about non-violence and finishing fear…But, those who call themselves Hindu (BJP) only talk about violence, hatred, untruth…Aap Hindu ho hi nahi,” Gandhi said while speaking on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address on Monday.

Gandhi’s speech triggered ruckus in the Lower House as BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah intervening to say that the Gandhi has made serious allegations that “all those who identify as Hindus, talk about violence”.

Gandhi who began his address in the Lok Sabha with “Jai Samvidhan” amidst slogans of “Modi” and “Bharat” displayed  posters with images of Lord Shiva, Jesus Christ besides citing from Quran to signify that each religion teaches courage and fearlessness.  Gandhi went on to attack the BJP and said Hinduism is not about spreading fear, hatred and falsehoods. 

“There was a systematic, full-scale assault on the idea of India, the Constitution, and millions of people who resisted the ideas proposed by the BJP. Many of us were personally attacked, including myself.
