Generally, sago is used a lot in Hindu homes during fasts and festivals. It is considered a fruit meal during fasting. But do you know where this sago comes from and how it is made?

Recently, a viral video shows the process of preparing sago which is quite surprising. It shows that first of all the sago fruit growing on the root is uprooted. After this, the fruit is cut. It is collected in large quantity and taken to the factory in a truck. After this, it is put in a conveyor belt with the help of a JCB from the truck and taken to another machine. Here, the dust and dirt is removed from the fruit in water.

Then it is peeled and made into a paste by putting it in a peeling machine. After this, it is put into a grinding machine through a conveyor belt and it is finely ground. In the further mechanical process, this paste is filtered and its pulp is extracted. Then the paste is dried and made into a powder and it is given the shape of sago. Finally, it is packed in sacks and taken to the market.

Let us tell you that a large amount of fake sago has started coming in the market which is very harmful for health. However, there are many ways to identify it. For example, excessively shiny and polished sago can be fake while real sago is dull. Apart from this, if it feels gritty when pressed with teeth, then also understand that the sago is fake. If it feels soft when eaten, then it has not been adulterated.
