Jude Bellingham’s sensational wondergoal in England’s victory against Slovakia at Euro 2024 sparked ecstatic scenes across the country – including at one pub.

The midfielder proved the Three Lions’ hero after hooking home an acrobatic bicycle kick in the final minute of stoppage time, sparing them from a limp last-16 knockout.

Harry Kane scored the winner shortly after the restart to book a quarter-final date with Switzerland but the headlines belonged to Bellingham’s moment of magic.

Jubilant clips of supporters leaping to their feet and throwing their pints of beer in the air quickly went viral – as did a video recorded at an unnamed watering hole.

The footage, shared widely across social media, showed a group of fans on tenterhooks while playing a game of pool and nervously watching the TV.

One crazy individual, visibly overcome with delight, threw himself across the width of the pool table and fell off on the other side. Luckily, he stood back up unscathed.

One of the best videos of the night came from Box Park in Brixton, south London, where BBC presenter Joe Inwood covered the brilliant piece of television as he asked two supporters whether Gareth Southgate could ‘survive’ the looming defeat.

The duo began answering, stating: ‘No way he’s not coming back after this.
