VVS Laxman NCA Head: Rahul Dravid’s tenure as coach ended after the Indian team won the T20 World Cup 2024 title. He did not even apply for the post of coach again. But his fellow player, veteran VVS Laxman is currently the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). But his three-year contract is ending in September.

Earlier reports have revealed that the tenure of former Indian batsman VVS Laxman will be extended by at least one year. That means his dominance in NCA will still continue. This has been revealed in the report of ESPNcricinfo.

Laxman had taken Dravid’s place.

According to this, along with Laxman, the tenure of his colleagues Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule and Hrishikesh Kanitkar will also be extended. Before Laxman, the head of NCA was Rahul Dravid. Laxman had taken Dravid’s place.

Earlier reports had said that Laxman would step down from the post of head of NCA and could become the coach of a team for next year’s IPL 2025. But all this remains only rumours. Laxman has accepted the offer to extend his tenure by one year.

New NCA campus is ready

Let us tell you that at present the National Cricket Academy (NCA) is running at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But a new NCA campus has been completed outside the city. It may also be inaugurated next month. The foundation of this new NCA was laid in 2022, which is now almost ready.

In this new NCA campus, 3 international level grounds, 100 pitches, 45 indoor pitches, an Olympic size pool and a modern rehab center are ready. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has made it clear that apart from cricketers, all other Olympic athletes including Neeraj Chopra will also be able to practice in this new NCA campus.
