The by-elections in nine seats in Uttar Pradesh may not determine power, but they will determine the future political situation and direction. West Samau constituency is 56.85%, Khair constituency is 60.80%, Kundarki constituency is 71.26%, Mirapur constituency is 68.65%, Karhal constituency is 66.11%, Ghaziabad constituency is 51.77%, Katehri constituency is 62.5%, Phulpur constituency It was 61.1% in Karhal constituency and 61.1% in Karhal constituency. Majhwan seat received 60.3% of the vote. SP won 4 seats, BJP won 3 seats, RLD won 1 seat and Nishad Party won 1 seat.

Mirapur constituency 36.77%, Majhwan constituency 31.68%, Khair constituency 28.80%, Pulpur constituency 26.67%, Kundarki constituency 41.01%, Karhal constituency 32.29%, Katehari constituency 36.54%, Ghaziabad constituency, Sisamau constituency 20.92% but 28.50% voting was conducted. Thus, the maximum number of votes was cast in Kundarki seat, followed by Meerapur seat, while the maximum number of votes was cast in Ghaziabad seat.

If we look at the voting trend in the by-elections, the number of votes in the Kundarki, Karhal and Katehari seats held by the Samajwadi Party is increasing, while the number of votes in the Khair, Phulpur, Ghaziabad seats held by the BJP is decreasing. Apart from this, RLD’s seat seems to be polling well while Nishad Party’s seat is polling less. Voting in the Sisamau seat held by the SP is dwindling, while in the remaining seats held by it, a sizeable number of voters are walking out of the House. The Kundarki seat has recorded a turnout of over 70 per cent in the last three elections, while the Ghaziabad seat also saw lower turnout in the recent elections.

The parliamentary seats of Karhal, Sisamau and Kundarki have long been occupied by three socialist parties. The BSP won the Kundarki seat in 2007 and the SP has been victorious since then. The BJP has won the Ghaziabad, Phulpur and Khel seats for three consecutive elections. The political sentiment in Meerapur and Majhwan seats keeps changing with every election, while the sentiment in Katheri seat changes after both elections. SP won in 2022 and before that BSP won and SP MLA was elected in 2012.

Tej Pratap Yadav is contesting on behalf of the Socialist Party, Anujesh Yadav is contesting on behalf of the PPP and Avinash Shakya is contesting on behalf of the Socialist Party of the Philippines from the Cajal assembly seat. In the predominantly Muslim Kundalki constituency of Moradabad, the BJP’s Ramveer Singh Thakur is contesting, with the Samajwadi Party’s Haji Rizwan ) is campaigning while Rav Taula alias Chhidda from BSP, Mohammad Waris from AIMIM and Haji Chand Babu from ASP are trying their luck. Mithlesh Pal from RLD, Sumbul Rana, daughter-in-law of former MP Kadir Rana from SP, Shahnazar from BSP, Zahid Hussain from Chandrashekhar Azad party and Arshad Rana from AIMIM are vying for the Mirapur seat.

Naseem Solanki of Samajwadi Party, Suresh Awasthi of BJP and Virendra Shukla of Janata Party are contesting from West Samau seat. Sanjeev Sharma from the BJP, Raj Singh Jatav from the Samajwadi Party and PN Garg from the BSP are contesting from the Ghaziabad seat. Well, Charu Kain from SP, Surendra Diler from BJP and Pahal Singh from BSP are vying for the seat. Deepak Patel from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Mujtaba Siddiqui from the Samajwadi Party are contesting from the Phulpur seat, while Suchmita from the Bharatiya Janata Party Suchismita Maurya, Jyoti Bind from the Socialist Party and Deepak Tiwari from the Socialist Party of the Philippines Tiwari is contesting from Majhwan seat. Shobhavati Verma from SP, Dharamraj Nishad from BJP and Amit Verma from BSP are contesting from Katehari seat.
