Ramban, September 18: Voters in Ramban today said they voted to get their problems resolved.

First-time voters said they voted for addressing unemployment, improving health facilities, education system, better road connectivity and sanitation.

After a group of young first-time voters cast their votes at the polling station, Ramban said they were eager to see the change in the new leadership after a gap of 10 years. They expressed hope and eager to see the newly elected leadership prioritize their concerns.

Aarti Sharma, 21, said she had become an eligible voter this year but unfortunately, the elections could not be held due to the abrogation of Article 370 and downgrading of Jammu and Kashmir state to a Union Territory. “Today I finally voted for my favourite candidate. I believe he will work for the development of the region and the progress of the oppressed people living in the region,” she said.
