November 10, 2024: Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the influential filmmaker Kashmir Archiveshas officially started filming a new project, Delhi Archives – Bangladesh Chapter. Agnihotri shared the exciting news with fans on social media and posted a behind-the-scenes video of the team performing a traditional ceremony to mark the start of the film’s production. The director’s heartfelt message included in the post reads:
“Shubram! With your blessings, the shooting of #TheDelhiFiles begins today. The entire crew held a puja. Mother! Please give us the courage to tell this difficult story with the utmost honesty and fearlessness. “
This movie is a part of Agnihotri Delhi Archives The series aims to explore major historical events and this chapter focuses on the story of Bengal. Like his previous films, Agnihotri leaves no stone unturned to ensure historical accuracy.
A press release from the production team revealed that the director conducted in-depth research and traveled to key locations such as Kerala, Kolkata and Delhi. He researched more than 100 books, reviewed more than 200 articles, and sifted through more than 7,000 research pages. To further ensure authenticity, Agnihotri and his team also visited 20 states in India.
Delhi Archives – Bangladesh Chapter It will be produced by producer Abhishek Agarwal, a frequent collaborator of Agnihotri, under the banner Abhishek Agarwal Art In partnership with Agnihotri’s own production company, I am Buddha. The film is expected to be released August 15, 2025.
