Visakhapatnam is about to get the 18th Railway Zone office, Railway Minister updates big news

Indian Railways Sector 18 office is coming up in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Let us tell you that Indian Railways will be constructing its 18th regional office in Visakhapatnam. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently published an article providing information about the tenders conducted for this purpose. The Railway Minister posted on social media platform X. He stated in this article that the National Transport Authority has invited tenders for the construction of offices for the South Coast Railway Zone in Visakhapatnam.

The project will be completed within two years

In fact, Indian Railways Sector 18 is about to be completed. The rail zone will be known as the South Coast Rail Zone. The headquarters of Indian Railways Sector 18 will be located in Visakhapatnam. The bidding for the construction of office buildings in the Railway New Area will begin on December 13, 2024. The tender will close on December 27, 2024. The target for completing this work is 24 months, or two years. Let us tell you that this was announced by the then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal in 2019. The construction of the South Coast Railway Zone will promote connectivity throughout the region and provide a lot of convenience to local people.

The cornerstone of railway station reconstruction

Meanwhile, about two years ago, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the ambitious Visakhapatnam railway station redevelopment project. The Rs 446-crore Railway Land Development Authority project is also considered important as Visakhapatnam will soon become the headquarters of the new South Coast Railway Zone. The project is based on EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and aims to provide world-class facilities to passengers.
