Violent protest breaks out at Swami Ramakrishna Ashram in Shimlas, five persons injured as stones are thrown, case registered

Shimla: Riots broke out at the Swami Ramakrishna Ashram in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday night. After prayers and meditation, a group of people staged a demonstration and tensions escalated. So the situation here turned violent.

What’s going on?

ABVP and BJP supporters allegedly gathered there and pelted stones. Let us tell you that allegations of attempts to control administration and operations have come to light but these have been rejected by the ashram management. The case is currently before the Supreme Court.

SP expresses concern

Confirming the incident, Shimla Police Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi expressed concern over the tension. The SP said a group of people demonstrated after praying and meditating, in which some people were injured and later turned violent. Supporters of ABVP and BJP gathered there. Suddenly, ABVP and BJP supporters pelted stones at them.

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections in the matter and investigation is on, the SP said. We are taking this matter seriously. Law and order is our top priority. Our team, led by Navdeep, reached the spot at midnight, maintained peace and secured the property. We solved the problem in the middle of the night, but suddenly someone threw stones.

Statement from Swami Ramakrishna Ashram Secretary is out

Tanmahimamananda, secretary of Swami Ramakrishna Ashram, said: “We have been given this temple to do religious work. We also told the SP ten days ago that there may be There were some such incidents. We also went to the court but there was no time for the rioters to pose as believers and create riots while the Supreme Court heard the case. We wanted the court to make our decision.
