Vinesh Phogat Case Verdict Updates: After Paris Olympics 2024, the decision in Vinesh Phogat’s case is yet to come. The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) was to announce its decision on Tuesday (13 August), but now it has been postponed. Now the court’s decision will come on August 16 at 9.30 pm. If this decision comes in favor of Vinesh then she will get the silver medal. Whereas if anyone comes against him, he will be disappointed.
The detailed order of this decision has already been issued. Dr. Annabelle Bennett AC SC will give the verdict in this case. Let us tell you that earlier CAS had kept August 10 as the date for giving its verdict. Usually the ad-hoc panel is given 24 hours to give its decision. But a long date was kept for giving the verdict in this case.
Disqualified before the gold medal match
After all, what is this matter and how did it start? In fact, during the Paris Olympics, Vinesh had secured the silver medal by entering the final of 50 kg freestyle wrestling after playing 3 consecutive matches on 6th August. The gold medal match was to be held on the night of 7th August, but Vinesh was disqualified on the same morning because her weight was 100 grams more before the match.
After this Vinesh filed a case in CAS. His first demand was that he should be allowed to play the gold medal match. But citing rules, his demand was immediately rejected. After this Vinesh appealed and said that she should be given a silver medal in this event.
Wrestler Vinesh retired from wrestling
The final of 50 kg freestyle wrestling was played in the Paris Olympics on 7 August. After this, the next day Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement from wrestling. He gave this information while posting it on social media.

Vinesh has won 3 gold in Commonwealth
Vinesh Phogat has won 3 consecutive golds in Commonwealth Games. He won this gold in 2014 Glasgow, 2018 Gold Coast and 2022 Birmingham Games. Apart from this, Vinesh also won gold in the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.
