In Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, a video of assaulting the vigilance team of the electricity department and then forcibly making them sit in a car went viral. BJP workers were accused of assaulting government employees. Now, on the complaint of the victim employee, the police have registered a case against 21 people including BJP leader Suryamani Tiwari under several sections including kidnapping.
Last Friday, BJP leaders and their workers beat up a constable and driver of the vigilance department, accusing them of extorting money from electricity consumers. After that, they forcibly made them sit in the car and took them to Alinagar police station. After the victim’s complaint in this matter, the police have registered a case under several sections including kidnapping.

BJP leader gave clarification
BJP leader Suryamani Tiwari clarified in this matter and said that no BJP worker beat them up. Those officers had called the consumers to the office to take bribe after checking the electricity connection. The employees of the vigilance department were doing illegal recovery. I reached the spot on the complaint of the workers, people were angry and a situation of fighting came. We rescued those two employees from there and brought them to the police station in our car. The police is investigating this entire matter.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has attacked the BJP government for this behaviour with government employees. Sharing the video of the incident on social media, Akhilesh wrote, “BJP government’s ‘zero tolerance towards police’ feat: BJP members kidnapped the police. Now will the policemen have to go to the BJP headquarters to register an FIR? This day was just left to be seen.”
