A shocking case of molestation has come to light in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru. When a woman cancelled an auto ride booked through an app, the accused auto driver first molested her and then beat her up and ran away.

According to the news agency report, the victim said that on Wednesday she and her friend booked two autos through the Ola app during peak hours. Out of these, the auto of one friend arrived first, after which the woman cancelled her auto.

Attempt to snatch mobile phone while making video

Angered by this, the auto driver followed them. Despite explaining the situation, the auto driver started shouting and started abusing the woman along with beating her. The woman said that the auto driver came and asked her if the auto belonged to her father, apart from this he used many abusive words for the woman. When the victim started making a video of this incident, the accused auto driver threatened her and also tried to snatch her mobile.

Auto driver slapped a woman

The woman said that when she protested, the auto driver slapped her in front of everyone and then attacked her with slippers. The woman said that during this time the people around just stood and silently watched the spectacle. The victim mentioned this incident on her social media platform and called it very scary. Along with this, the woman also tagged the company providing online taxi and demanded action.

ADG ordered action against the auto driver

The company replied to her saying that this is a matter of concern and they will investigate the incident, while after the video of the incident with the victim went viral on social media, the city’s Additional Director General of Police (Traffic and Road Safety) Alok Kumar has assured the woman of appropriate action. The woman has also shared the video of the incident on social media platforms.

Reacting to the woman’s post, the ADGP said, ‘Such behaviour is unacceptable, some people like him give a bad name to the auto driver community. Action has been ordered against the accused driver.
